Cerebral palsy is a condition that permanently affects the body movement and muscle coordination, appears in infancy and early childhood.  It is caused by damage to the brain or abnormalities in the development of the brain.  Cerebral palsy is a leading cause of disability in the US. 

There is no cure for cerebral palsy.  However, supportive treatments including therapies, medications and surgery can help many children in improving their motor skills and communication abilities.
